Published: 18 June 2007

Martyn Bramhall and Mick Fairest of the Sheffield Phoenix CC have both been forced out of competitive cycling, due to illness .They are organising a sponsored charity event to say thank you to the sport and everyone who has supported them.

On the weekend of July 13th 14th and 15th they are going to attempt to ride a kilometre on every open track in England and Wales, beginning on Friday evening at Scunthorpe track league open meeting and finishing at the Scunthorpe trophy meeting on Sunday.

They will be travelling to tracks at Mansfield, Welwyn, Herne Hill, Brighton , Portsmouth, Southampton, Reading, Newport, Cardiff, Halesowen, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Kirby and Manchester.

Sponsorship raised will be divided equally between The David Raynor Fund and The Stroke Association. There are two ways to sponsor them. For individual sponsors, sponsor forms will be sent to track leagues, clubs etc. For Club sponsors £20 will sponsor a specific kilo and if you are able to lend them a club jersey they will wear it for that kilo and photographs.

Sponsor forms will be at the sign on tables for the next 4 Mondays.
