Reading DernyFest and National Women's Omnium 2010

Published: 5 November 2009

News Item: 15th October 2009 From Gordon Sherratt

Herne Hill and Welwyn tracks have been promoting a DernyFest and a round of the National Women's Omnium for a few years now.

At the last Committee meeting it was agreed that Reading Velodrome Racing would join Herne Hill and Welwyn Tracks in promoting a DernyFest and a round of the National Women's Omnium on Saturday 14th August from 1pm to 5pm.

The DernyFest concept is to have an entry of around 30 riders with 3 reserve and at least 10 derny motors. Three 10k heats are run off with first 3 each heat going to 25k final and lower placed riders going to 20k final.

At Reading entries on the line will be accepted for the Women's Omnium but not for the DernyFest events.

Reading Velodrome racing will again be promoting the Bordeaux-Paris event with a 30k Derny Final for the qualifiers on Sunday 2nd May 2010 from 1pm to 5pm.

The Herne Hill DernyFest is on Saturday 29th May and the Welwyn DernyFest is on Saturday 17th July 2010.

Will there be a rider who can win all 3 DernyFest meetings?
