Ladies Love Track : Again!

Published: 15 September 2004

The second women specific track day will take place at Reading velodrome on 25th Sept, it is an open race meeting with a difference? It is designed to help introduce women into racing on the track, by using a combination of training sessions which blend almost seamlessley into genuine BCF races. The training/coaching is dished out in bite size pieces which means there's a little bit of theory and then it's immediately put into practice via a training excersise/race or a genuine bcf race. The last womens track day attracted lots of complete beginners as well as ladies who were more experienced who helped mentor the eager to learn newbies. All riders are seeded so that they only ride with others of a similar ability.

The day costs £10 which includes the cost of hiring track bike, entry to the open meeting and all coaching and training. ( some ladies may need to buy an additional day licence (available on the day) if not already a member of BCF) Open to BCF licence holders up to and including cat2 as well as ALL novices who may or may not have raced or ridden track/fixed wheel before. Youths/ talent team riders up to 16 can enter for just £5.

Signing on is at 12.30 at Palmer Park velodrome on Saturday 25th September, session starts at 1.00 and will finish around 5 ish. There is entry on the line, but if riders require a hire bike then please contact Jayne to register your interest and size of bike required.

Please send entries on a track entry form ( a blank copy can be emailed to you on request) to Jayne Toyne, 39 Bishops Court, Radcliffe Road, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 5QH Cheques made payable to Prime Coaching. All questions/ enquiries etc to Jayne via phone or email: tel: 07770 437267, email

So please pass the word around to let any women know about this event and lets see some more new faces at the track.
