Records set at Reading Velodrome
Several records exist for the Velodrome and have not been contested for several
years. These record attempts are for Senior, Women, Junior, Youth, and Masters
above C Category.
One record that was established in 2003 was the Human Powered Vehicle World One
Hour Women's record. This record was established by Claire King from York on
20th July 2003 with 52.343 kilometres covered.
Records
The Track League has entered a new phase with the introduction of two new sets
of track records on the Palmer Park Velodrome. The new record book will contain
unpaced and Derny paced sections with flying start and standing start
distances.
The unpaced sections will include flying start times for 200 metres, and the
Derny paced section at 200, 500 and 1,000 metres. All the remaining distances
will be timed from a standing start (no push starts!) over 1,000, 4,000, 5,000
and 10,000 metres and one hour. In summary the new record book will register
the following distances.
Any existing records will be registered as the first entries in the new series.
