14th April 2025 was the start date for work on the athletics track at the stadium. Work was due to be completed at the end of June. We also expected the lines of the velodrome track to be repainted. As for the lighting issues we had at the end of 2024, Better promised the lights would be repaired back in January 2025.

What is the situation now?

• the lights were not repaired due to lack of funds. They are currently looking at temporary lights from the winter months onwards
• the lines as yet have not been repainted, the promise is still there for that to happen before the re-opening of the track
• the re-opening of the stadium has been put back a number of times, the latest offering being the end of August!

So what about track league in 2025? Currently it is not possible to make any plans, but I am not very optimistic due to the slipping schedule and the lighting situation which needs clearance from BC so we are covered under BC insurance for racing.

Fingers crossed the situation gets resolved in the near future.
