Reading cycle track is an outdoor track on the outside of the athletic track, owned by Reading Council and is part of Palmer Park Sports Stadium. It is a tarmac track 459 metres in length with shallow banking, located at Wokingham Road, Reading, Postcode RG6 1LF.

Reading Velodrome Racing hires the cycle track for the Monday night Track League from April until the end of September, excluding bank holiday Mondays. Newcomers both youth and senior have to be accredited by coaches before they can race on a Monday evening. Racing starts at 7pm and spectators are welcome, it is free to watch. We are all volunteers.

For details of training and adult accreditation please check the ‘Training‘ tab.

Most youths get accredited at youth cycle club Palmer Park Velo, run by volunteer parents and qualified coaches, and cater for ages 5 to 18. They hire the cycle track most Saturday mornings from 9am to 12.30pm. They have some bikes for hire. See website www.palmerparkvelo.net for full details.

Contact admissions team on 07586 347632 or email [email protected] or turn up on a Saturday morning to see what goes on and ask questions.
