Along with many organising groups around the country Reading Track league is looking to install the British Cycling approved timing and results system at Palmer Park track.  The systems will be used for track, road and cyclocross, so once you have your transponder you can use if for all your racing and maybe even training data.

By having a simple low cost transponder on your bike you will get full accurate, to 0.004 second, results and lap times for all riders in a race. Results will be available quickly at the track and in full on your very own page on the internet. So you will be able to track your results and performance as the season progresses.

An example of the details of a training session can be seen for a rider at Manchester Velo at http://www.mylaps.com/en/practice-results/activity/1725558

Or race results, with the first 6 riders finishing within a second, and lap charts, interesting to click on a top rider and see where they ride a race !!

There is one thing that is stopping us from investing in this technology to make Reading Track League’s results the best in the country and providing you with as much data as you want !!  We need a group of people to share the operation of the system, if you are computer literate, are comfortable with simple spreadsheets, you could help us run the system. Ideally we would like a team of 4 or 5 to volunteer, so the work can be shared out and allow you to also enjoy watching the racing on other weeks.

So if you know someone that regularly attends on Monday nights, that would be prepared to give a little time, to making our track league the best around, PLEASE encourage them to get in touch with us.
